Caramel Crunch
15 oz. box Corn/Rice Chex or Crispix
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Pour cereal into large roasting pan. In saucepan, combine butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt. Bring to rolling boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and baking soda. Stir well and pour over cereal. Put in 250˚F oven for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes. Spread on waxed paper and cool.
Yummmy! I have made something similar before, but used those "corn puffs" that you find in the chip aisle. I love anything carmel, especially if it is a little salty. Thanks so much for sharing!

Second Grade is Out of This World!
Hi Diane!
ReplyDeleteThat looks yummy! I actually have a blog question. How do you easily add pictures with the cute frames and captions on them? I find this to be tedious, there must be a faster way than what I'm doing! Love your blog!
Ya know you could totally send me some of that in Korea. I wouldn't mind at all. Honestly I wouldn't.

Caramel Crunch sounds like a delicious gluten-free treat. I always have cereal in the cupboard, so I may be making this soon.

Those look yummy! My mom likes to make cornflake candies using peanut butter and cornflake cereal. They were sticky but really tasty!
